La celebración de la entrega 95 de los premios Óscar, se llevó a cabo el 12 de marzo en el Dolby Theatre de Los Ángeles, en donde el comediante Jimmy Kimmel fue el maestro de ceremonias, quien se encargó de guiar la premiación.
Asimismo, entre los presentadores de cada premio, se encontró la ganadora del Óscar Halle Berry, Paul Dano, Cara Delevingne, Eva Longoria, Harrison Ford, Kate Hudson, Mindy Kaling, etc.
Además ‘Everything everywhere all at once’ fue una de las cintas que arrasó con todos los premios pues por sus 11 nominaciones, lograron ganar por Mejor actor de reparto en donde Ke Huy Quan se llevó el galardón, Mejor actriz de reparto con Jamie Lee Curtis, Mejor actriz con Michelle Yeoh quien ganó su primer estatuilla Óscar, además de Mejor dirección en donde los Daniels se llevaron el trofeo (Daniel Kwan, Daniel Scheinert), Mejor guión Original, Mejor edición y mejor película.
Los asistentes y la audiencia notó la falta de algunos actores en el vídeo ‘In Memoriam’, pues la Academia omitió al primer actor Ignacio López Tarso quien falleció el sábado 11 de marzo, pues en el ‘In Memoriam’ se honra a los profesionales de la industria cinematográfica y se reconoce su trayectoria.
Entre las ganadoras que sorprendieron a la audiencia Michelle Yeoh, se llevó el premio Óscar por su actuación en ‘Everything everywhere all at Once’ por lo que su rival más fuerte Cate Blanchett, se quedó sin el premio en esta ocasión, pues la actriz ya tiene dos estatuillas Óscar.
Uno de los premios más esperados era el de Mejor Actor, pues la audiencia en redes sociales buscaron que la actuación de Brendan Fraser como Charlie en ‘The Whale’ fuera reconocida pues el actor se llevó la estatuilla a su casa.
Los mexicanos Alfonso Cuarón y Alejandro González Iñárritu regresaron sin estatuilla pues ninguno de los dos ganó en su categoría.
Alfonso Cuarón se encontraba nominado con ‘Le pupille’ en la categoría de ‘Mejor cortometraje’ y Bardo, en la categoría de ‘Cinematografía’, sin embargo fue Guillermo del Toro, quien se llevó el merecido galardón por ‘Pinocho’ en la categoría de Mejor película animada, mientras recibió el premio reiteró que ‘La animación es cine’.
